The National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) is the professional membership association for certified athletic trainers and others who support the athletic training profession. Athletic trainers are health care professionals who specialize in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of injuries and sport-related illnesses. They prevent and treat chronic musculoskeletal injuries from sports, physical and occupational activity, and provide immediate care for acute injuries.
Founded in 1950, NATA represents and supports 43,000 athletic trainers worldwide today. NATA is dedicated to its mission to provide proper medical care for youth athletes, and the Youth Sports Safety Summit is one of many initiatives undertaken by the association to further this effort.
